Chubb lets new financial lines leader lift prior team to management
Chubb has furthered the shake-up of its financial lines leadership in the US, promoting four insiders to top positions following the early-December naming of Michael Mollica to lead the division.
Jarrod Schlesinger, at Chubb since 2009, becomes chief operating officer while maintaining his role leading Chubb’s North America financial lines management liability business. He is now additionally tasked with strategy development and the operational tactics of technology implementation, product development and cross-selling that will drive sales.
Scott Williams becomes chief underwriting officer and private/not-for-profit (PNP) practice leader, where he has served since joining Chubb in 2009. He will take executive responsibility for all aspects of the division's PNP underwriting, including field distribution, product development, and profit and loss performance.
Jennifer Riley, also hailing from PNP financial lines, becomes head of digital strategy & operations to oversee digital transformation with an initial focus on PNP, professional liability and cyber lines. She will oversee the division's overall digital strategy and production and develop efficiencies in the financial lines underwriting practice to increase productivity through automation.
Alissa Theberge, with 25 years in financial lines at Chubb, has been promoted to head of learning & development.
The four are following a PNP leader up the ladder. Michael Mollica was named division president for the company’s North America financial lines to oversee the offer in D&O, transactional risk, as well as its errors and omissions and cyber products across the full swathe of Chubb commercial clients. Mollica succeeded Steve Goldman, who left Chubb. Mollica had last been EVP for PNP, the post now taken by Williams.
Mollica said of the promotions: “These promotions align with our North America Financial Lines priorities in maintaining our industry-leading technical underwriting and service, accelerating our digital transformation, and providing the best possible environment for our talented team to continue to develop and grow in their careers I am very excited to see all that these excellent leaders will accomplish.”
Chubb Group vice chairman and President of North American insurance, John Lupica, commented: “Jarrod, Scott, Jennifer and Alissa are proven leaders who have made substantial contributions to our industry-leading North America Financial Lines Division. In their new roles, they will further elevate the development and delivery of products and services to address our financial lines clients’ evolving exposures, infuse the advantages of digitization into all aspects of our Financial Lines business, and optimize the ongoing development of our talent and leadership.”
