Chaucer key leader resigns after 23 years
Global specialty re/insurer Chaucer's head of political violence & crisis management has resigned after 23 years of service.
Andrew Bauckham (pictured) joined Chaucer in 1998 and established its global civil unrest and terrorism facultative and treaty portfolio in 2006.
Bauckham will be replaced by Harriet Sharp as head of political violence & crisis management.
Sharp joined Chaucer in 2013 and has over 13 years of market experience, having begun her career at Amlin.
John Fowle, chief executive officer of Chaucer, said: “I would like to thank Andy for his tremendous contribution to Chaucer over the last twenty-three years. Andy has helped create one of the strongest Political Violence and Crisis Management teams in the market with global reach through our offices. It will come as no surprise to practitioners in the class that Harriet Sharp will assume the role of Head of Political Violence and Crisis Management as Andy moves on. Harriet is a highly respected leader and does a magnificent job at Chaucer, and I couldn’t be happier that she has taken on the leadership of the team.”
Nicola Stacey, chief underwriting officer of Chaucer, added: “Talent identification, development and internal promotion have always been key priorities at Chaucer, and so I am delighted that Harriet will assume the leadership of the team. Harriet has played an integral role in the continued development of our Political Violence and Crisis Management business since joining Chaucer in 2017. I have great confidence in the ability of Harriet and the team to take our Political Violence and Crisis Management book to the next level.”
