Chaucer appoints new independent director in D&I push
Specialty Lloyd’s insurance group Chaucer has appointed a new independent non-executive director. The strategic addition aims to capitalise on his insights into inclusion and diversity initiatives.
Andrew Pearce (pictured) joins Chaucer as independent non-executive director on the CSL board, audit committee, risk and capital committee and remuneration and nominations committee.
Pearce joins Chaucer from Accenture (2007 – June 2023) having previously served as managing director at the consulting firm. He has extensive experience in application development and delivery across the Telco, Finance, Defence and Government sectors. As well as extensive expertise in leading multinational programmes in outsourcing and IT transformation, Pearce served in the RAF for sixteen years as an officer, his final posting was as deputy head of IT / CIS Services at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, with responsibilities for design, development and roll out of an extensive modernisation programme.
Paul Jardine, non-executive chairman of Chaucer, said: “John Fowle, the directors and I are delighted to welcome Andrew to the Board.
“His lengthy experience advising senior management at some of the biggest global businesses on complex projects will bring an added level of expertise to Chaucer. His insight into inclusion and diversity initiatives will also be very valuable as we look to further build on our programmes in this area.”
Pearce added: “Chaucer is a highly respected (re)insurance group with a strong reputation for its underwriting culture, the quality of its people and its commitment to brokers and clients around the world. I look forward to working with the Board and contributing to the success of the business.”
