CCR names new chairman of the board

CCR, a public-sector reinsurer that provides cedants operating in France with coverage against natural catastrophes and uninsurable risks, has appointed a new chairman of its board of directors.

Jacques Le Pape has been appointed to the role from May 4. He replaces Pierre Blayau, who has completed his term in the role.

Le Pape will oversee the delivery of the CCR Group's strategic plan, including the strengthening of its natural catastrophes regime and the continued expansion of its commercial reinsurance activity.

Le Pape began his career with the Insurance Control Commission, before occupying various positions at the General Directorate of the Treasury. He served as advisor to the Guard of Seals and the Ministry of Transport. He was also deputy director of the cabinet and advisor to Christine Lagarde, the Minister of Finance.

After participating in the Air France KLM executive committee as secretary general, he was chief financial officer of the Global Fund in Geneva. Since October 2016 he has been chairman of the supervisory board for the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP). Since 2020 he has served as partner at Barber Hauler Capital Advisers.
