Carnegie-Brown takes charge as Lloyd’s chair, steps down from JLT board
Bruce Carnegie-Brown has officially started as Lloyd’s new chairman, taking up the role from John Nelson, who is retiring.
At the same time, Carnegie-Brown has stepped down as a non-executive director at JLT Group.
"I am very excited to get started," Carnegie-Brown commented. "In the months since my appointment was announced, I have been meeting with people in the Market to hear from them about the challenges they face and what we as a corporation can do.
"It is also clear that there is a lot to be positive about. The excellence and expertise that exist in this market mean that, alongside the challenges, we also have many opportunities which I look forward to helping to develop in the months and years to come."
Currently the chairman of Moneysupermarket Group, Carnegie-Brown has also been vice-chairman of Banco Santander since February 2015. He worked at JP Morgan for 18 years in a number of senior roles, and ran 3i Group's quoted private equity division from 2007.
Carnegie-Brown was also the chief executive for Marsh UK and Europe between 2003 and 2006, non-executive chairman of Aon UK Ltd from 2012 to 2015 and was also senior independent non-executive director at the Catlin Group between 2010 and 2014.
