Canopius bolsters political risk unit with underwriter hire from Acapella Syndicate
Global specialty re/insurer Canopius has appointed Claire Kennett as underwriter, trade & political risk, effective January 13. She will report to Crispin Hodges, head of trade & political risk.
She joins from Acapella Syndicate where she served most recently as underwriter, political risk. She previously held roles at Aon Underwriting Managers and Liberty Specialty Markets.
Kennett is the latest addition to Canopius’s dedicated Trade Political Risk unit, which was created in October. This follows the appointment of Andrew Tongue announced earlier this month.
Crispin Hodges said: “Claire’s appointment further signals our intent to capitalise on the huge potential created by the combination of AmTrust and Canopius’s political risk capabilities. We are delighted to welcome Claire to Canopius, whose highly-relevant experience will be of huge benefit in the expansion and development of our dedicated Trade Political Risk unit.”
