CAC swoops for ex-Goldman Sachs banker from Marsh to drive PE expansion
Specialty insurance brokerage and investment banking business CAC Specialty has tapped a former Goldman Sachs investment banker with nearly three decades of insurance experience from broker Marsh to boost its private equity business.
The company has hired Gabe Levitt (pictured) as executive vice president. He is joining the CAC team in a business development and client management role where he will serve clients across the country and be instrumental in expanding CAC Specialty’s private equity business on the west coast.
Levitt has more than 28 years of experience in and around the insurance industry. He began his career as an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs, followed by eight years as an insurance and financial services private equity investor, primarily with Securitas Capital. Levitt has spent the past 18 years in insurance and benefits brokerage, most recently with Marsh, focused exclusively on providing due diligence, transaction solutions, and ongoing brokerage services to private equity firms, their portfolio companies, and other corporate clients.
Mike Rice, CEO of CAC Specialty, said: “ CAC is in the talent business, and we are excited to bring Gabe’s exceptional expertise to our clients, especially in the private equity sector.”
David Payne, chief revenue officer of CAC Specialty, added: “I have previously worked with Gabe and cannot think of a stronger client advocate in our industry. Gabe’s depth of knowledge is a huge benefit for our clients across the risk management and human capital spectrum. We are thrilled to have Gabe on the CAC team.”
Levitt commented: “I am incredibly excited to be joining CAC, reuniting with many of my former colleagues, and working alongside the rest of the talented and experienced team CAC has built. I am confident CAC will enable me to deliver best-in-class service and results to my private equity and portfolio/corporate clients.”
