Brown & Brown warps up Orchid and CrossCover acquisition
US insurance brokerage Brown & Brown has completed the planned acquisition of Orchid Underwriters Agency and CrossCover Insurance Services.
Orchid is a specialty underwriter of catastrophe-exposed property insurance. CrossCover provides Excess and Surplus (E&S) commercial property solutions for customers across the US.
In partnership with CrossCover, Orchid offers specialty commercial coverages to middle-market insureds.
The acquisition comprises all of Orchid’s managing general underwriter (MGU) and wholesaling business, along with its high-net-worth segment.
Orchid and CrossCover join Brown & Brown’s national programmes segment. They will continue to operate as independent entities, including maintaining principal operations in Vero Beach and Tampa, Florida and Cypress, Texas.
