Brokerslink grows African presence with four new broking affiliates
Global broking business Brokerslink has bolstered its presence in Africa by adding four new affiliates to its global network, from Algeria, Ethiopia, Libya and Réunion.
The new affiliates bring the total number of partners and affiliates Brokerslink has in Africa to 32, and a presence in 39 of the 54 countries across the continent.
Brokerslink’s new Ethiopian affiliate is Addis Insurance Brokers, the first indigenous insurance brokers in Ethiopia, licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia and led by CEO Yohannes Terefi.
In Algeria, Maher Insurance joins the network. Headquartered in the capital Algiers and formed in 2004, Maher’s clients include banks, construction firms and hotel chains.
Libyan insurance brokerage Tripolis also joins the Brokerslink network. Tripolis is a fully licensed and registered local insurance broker in the Libyan insurance market and offer a range of risk solutions from personal to specialty lines.
The final new African affiliate is HVA from the island nation of Réunion. It provides local expertise on a range of insurance products, including life, fleet, property and professional liability coverage.
Benjamin Boudeau-Raimbault, African regional manager of Brokerslink, commented: “Adding four affiliates to our network from the African insurance market and now having a presence in 39 countries really underlines our strong position on the continent. The African market has great potential for growth as confidence in the industry and penetration rates rise with products such as parametric insurance.
“We are well established in Africa and we aim to maintain this position. We can play a part in supporting the growth of the African insurance market and realise its potential as an enabler for wider economic development through risk transfer.”
