Brokerslink appoints new Middle East and Africa manager from MDS Re
Brokerslink, a global network of independent brokers, has appointed Tiago Mora as the new regional manager for Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Mora is MDS Re director and has been with MDS Group for 12 years. He has spent a number of those years developing the group’s operations in Africa and running the Angolan business.
Mora replaces Ana Cristina Borges who is relinquishing her responsibilities with Brokerslink to become board director of MDS Portugal.
In the role of regional manager, Tiago will focus on the development and expansion of Brokerslink’s presence across the region. He will assist the independent broker partners and affiliates in 35 countries to work with other brokers across the global network to find and develop new opportunities for their clients, and support Brokerslink’s strategic insurer partners to improve their access to the Middle East and Africa.
José Manuel Fonseca, Brokerslink’s chairman, said: “I’m delighted that Tiago has taken on the role of Regional Manager for this important region for Brokerslink. His industry experience and understanding of the local cultures and insurance markets in Africa are very valuable to Brokerslink as we continue to expand our presence in this increasingly important region.
“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to Ana Cristina for her commitment and hard work in building the MEA region to the dynamic and growing structure we have today. We wish her every success in her new role within MDS.”
Mora commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to help our Partners and Affiliates across the region to grow. I will be working to increase business opportunities and their links with other brokers in the network both around the region and across the global.
"Brokerslink can provide real differentiation for independent brokers so an important aspect of my role will be support brokers to not only grow in their local markets but also deliver global capabilities.
"We will also continue to reach out to brokers in other countries particular across Africa with the aim of creating a truly pan African organisation providing more opportunities for the global network, their clients and our insurance partners right across the continent.”
