Brit expands A&H underwriting with senior RSA hire

Global specialty re/insurer  Brit, a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings, has expanded its accident and health (A&H) underwriting capabilities with a senior hire from RSA.

Jack Hinton (pictured) joins the business as an underwriter in its A&H team, reporting to class underwriter Trevor Heyburn.

Hinton comes from RSA where he was a senior underwriter, A&H. Prior to RSA, he also held A&H underwriting roles with Sompo International and ANV.

The appointment builds on Brit’s significant Lloyd’s footprint in A&H as the team looks to continue to invest in its offering for brokers and clients.

Andy Bowers, managing director, programmes & facilities, said: “We have a well-established and highly regarded A&H team and I am pleased to welcome Jack as its latest member. Our ability to offer both specialist claims and underwriting expertise means we are well placed to respond to complex client needs.

“This is particularly important in enabling us to provide the right coverage in what is a challenging inflationary environment for many businesses. Our ambition is to build on our leadership position, and the team is focused on delivering a service that will continue to make us a partner of choice.”
