BMS taps Tysers for leader to spearhead its London DUA and Programmes division
Broker BMS has poached a senior executive from rival Tysers to spearhead and expand its newly structured London Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) and Programmes division, primarily in the US.
Mark Aylward joins as managing director of the division. He will join BMS upon completion of his current contractual obligations and will report to Hannah Watkins, managing director, BMS Re.
Aylward has more than 20 years of experience in the delegated authority market. He was most recently director of the North American and International Property team at Tysers.
Watkins said: “Last year, we brought our reinsurance and insurance DUA expertise together as one team. The DUA space continues to evolve, as do our Coverholders’ needs – from alternative structures to analytics, to implementing cross-class strategies. To do this successfully we provide a holistic approach to our clients, working closely with our programme experts in our US reinsurance operations. BMS is delighted to have someone of Mark’s calibre join us – his reputation in the market will only enhance what is already a successful team.”
Aylward added: “The team at BMS are recognised for their professionalism and dedication to their clients. Combine this with their strong reinsurance and analytics capabilities and it creates a compelling proposition. The London intermediary space is changing rapidly and clients need a stable, focussed broking partner with an appetite to invest in dedicated DUA talent and technology. I’m excited to be joining BMS at this stage of their growth journey.”
