BMS Re beefs up facultative unit with trio of senior hires
Reinsurance broker BMS Re has made a trio of senior hires from XL Catlin, AmTrust and Willis Towers Watson to further expand its facultative practice as it seeks to “differentiate” itself in this space from the rest of the market.
Based in Chicago, Jeremy Gallico and Brian Kohout will assume the roles of vice president, property fac and vice president casualty fac, respectively. In addition, Erin Brady joins BMS Re’s New York office as vice president, casualty fac. All three will report to Rich Macrane, executive vice president, head of facultative at BMS Re.
Gallico has more than 11 years’ experience in the Chicago market and joins BMS Re from his most recent position as senior underwriter, direct property facultative at XL Catlin. Prior to this, he held the role of assistant vice president / senior underwriter, direct property facultative at Gen Re.
Kohout brings with him extensive underwriting experience. His previous roles include executive specialty casualty underwriter at AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, senior primary casualty and construction underwriter at Allied World Insurance and vice president and general liability underwriter at PS & Associates.
Brady began her career in insurance in 2017 as a reinsurance broker, casualty global fac at Willis Towers Watson. She was subsequently promoted in 2019 to assistant vice president, casualty global fac, where she developed strong relationships with clients and reinsurance partners.
Pete Chandler (pictured), president and CEO of BMS Re, said: “ BMS Re is differentiating in the facultative space through our use of e-trading technology to increase efficiency and optimise coverage. With the appointments of Jeremy, Brian and Erin we are further enhancing our existing facultative offering and cementing our expertise in this area. BMS Re continues to attract excellent and like-minded talent, retaining our relationship-focused culture while simultaneously offering world-class reinsurance solutions to our clients.”
Macrane added: “We have an exceptional facultative team at BMS Re and I am delighted to welcome Jeremy, Brian and Erin to the fold. The personalised service and analytical approach of BMS Re differentiates us from the rest of the market and helps our clients achieve outstanding results. Our facultative team works closely with all BMS disciplines worldwide to deliver solutions that help clients meet their facultative goals.”
