BMS raids Tysers, draws slew of casualty talent for market expansion
Independent re/insurance broker BMS has drawn seven new hires from rival Tysers to rapidly grow its casualty capabilities and fuel the group’s overall expansion strategy.
Andrew Park, Charles Waddington, Sean Cahill, and Natasha Anne Mitchell González join BMS as directors, effective October 2022. Based in London, the team will report to Chris Ritchie, managing director of international direct and facultative at BMS.
Prior to joining BMS, Park and Waddington co-led the international liability unit at Tysers as directors. Waddington joined Integro (now Tysers) in 2007, before that he was head of worldwide casualty at Guy Carpenter. Park began working at Integro in 2008 from Lockton as managing principal in casualty.
Together, González and Cahill bring more than 17 years’ industry experience to BMS, joining from their most recent roles as associate directors at Tysers.
Other executives joining the group from Tysers/Integro include Emily Weighton as divisional director, effective July 2022; Joe Crewdson as senior broker, effective September 2022; and Olivia Bellingham as broker, effective July 2022.
Nick Cook (pictured), CEO of BMS, said: “ BMS is committed to attracting top market talent with a passion for providing the highest level of service. It is with great pleasure that we announce Andrew, Charlie, and the wider team’s appointments to our expanding casualty practice.”
Ritchie added: “With an outstanding reputation, our casualty team has extensive expertise in placing complex international risks into the London market. Quality appointments of this kind will continue to meet growing demand while maintaining the world-class service for which we are known.”
