BMS looks to grow Australian affinity business with new chair
Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has appointed Cris Massis as chairman of its Australian affinity business, based in Melbourne.
Massis will focus on growing the business, working with Shamus Breen, managing director of BMS Australia’s affinity operation.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare and sports sector and is currently the interim chief executive of Integra Health, a start-up group of multidisciplinary allied health clinics across Australia aiming to provide client-centred health care solutions. He has held positions at the Bob Jane Corporation, St Kilda Football Club, CPA Australia, Australian Physiotherapy Association and Advent Health. Massis was also chairman of the Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) and holds a range of non-executive healthcare and sports directorships.
Andrew Godden, chief executive of BMS Australia, said: “BMS Australia has grown our affinity business at a rapid pace, with a market-leading offering and client-centric approach that distinguishes us from our competitors. To continue this growth, we are determined to attract the very finest talent in the market, particularly from our partner industries.
“Cris has unparalleled knowledge and understanding of Australian and Global professional associations in the healthcare and sports sectors and is recognised as an exceptional manager and leader. We are delighted that he is joining BMS to support our commitment to a unified global affinity service model and aligning our Association clients. Shamus Breen and the entire affinity team are very much looking forward to welcoming Cris to BMS and working with him in the months and years to come.”
