BMS brings Willis Towers SVP to strengthen US market presence

Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has hired Conrad Lagasca from Willis Tower Watson to lead its San Francisco office and help expand its market presence in the US. As branch manager, Lagasca will support and manage BMS’s...

...specialty programmes through the group’s West Coast operation. He will report to Jonah Pfeffer, chief casualty officer at BMS’s US reinsurance arm.

Lagasca has over 20 years of management and broking experience, specialised in property and casualty, workers’ compensation and professional liability lines.

Prior to joining BMS, Lagasca served as senior vice president at Willis Tower Watson, which he re-joined in 2019. He was first at Willis between 2001 and 2011, before working as a senior vice president at JLT/Guy Carpenter from 2011 to 2019. Lagasca began his reinsurance career in 1995 at E.W. Blanch Company (now Aon). In the past, he also held a managerial role at Pepsi Co. for two years.

Pfeffer said: “Regional property and casualty reinsurance is one of the focal points of our US operation. Attracting talent like Conrad is key to BMS’s continued success in the segment of the market. Conrad’s unparalleled technical skills and client-oriented approach complement our established strategic plan, and we look forward to working closely in servicing our clients and strengthening our market presence.”
