Berkshire’ BHSI nabs former AXA XL/AIG exec for senior role in Spain

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, has brought in a senior AXA XL executive in Spain to help strengthen its broker relationships in the market.

Eduardo Guinea (pictured) has joined  BHSI as head of customer & broker engagement in Spain. He will be based in Madrid.

Guinea comes to  BHSI with nearly 20 years of industry experience, much of it focussed on expanding and building market relationships. He was most recently head of distribution, Iberia, and a member of the country leadership team at global insurer AXA XL.

Guinea was previously client and distribution leader, Iberia, at XL Catlin. Before that, he spent nearly eight years at AIG in various roles based in Madrid.

Constanza Gallegos, country manager, Spain,  BHSI, said: “As we continue to grow in Spain and throughout Europe, we are intently focused on fostering strong, long-term relationships with our customers and brokers. Eduardo has extensive market experience and shares our commitment to optimising the experience for our customers and brokers with every interaction.

“In this new role, he will be at the forefront as we strengthen and expand these valuable local relationships in Spain.”
