Berkshire BHSI lures Aviva/Zurich leader for top UK role

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, has tapped a senior  Aviva leader with nearly three decades of experience in the UK insurance market to bring sustainable solutions to the market.

Nick Major (Pictured) has been appointed to the position of country manager, BHSI UK. He will be based in London.

Major has nearly three decades of experience in the UK insurance market. He was most recently managing director, commercial lines UK, at Aviva. Prior to Aviva, he spent nearly 15 years in increasingly senior positions, including chief underwriting officer, at Zurich Insurance in London.

“BHSI has been in high-growth mode in the UK. With Nick’s leadership, we will further strengthen our team and accelerate our momentum in bringing sustainable insurance solutions to market,” said Chris Colahan, head of UK and Europe, BHSI.

“I am excited to welcome Nick and look forward to working with him as we bring our solutions, financial stability and ‘claims is our product’ philosophy to customers and brokers in the UK and worldwide.”
