AXIS taps ex-AIG/QBE talent for global ceded reinsurance leadership

Global re/insurer  AXIS Capital has appointed a former AIG/QBE recruit to the post of deputy global head of ceded reinsurance.

Inmaculada Gonzalez (pictured), who has been with AXIS since July 2019, has been promoted to deputy global head of ceded reinsurance, effective immediately. She was most recently head of ceded reinsurance placements in the US.

In her new role, Gonzalez will help advance ceded reinsurance strategic priorities and drive best practices in governance and compliance on outwards reinsurance and retrocessional placements.

Prior to joining AXIS, Gonzalez was a senior reinsurance officer at AIG based in New York. Previously, she was head of ceded reinsurance, SVP, Latin America at QBE Insurance. During her more than 12 year tenure at QBE North America, Gonzalez served in roles of increasing responsibility, latterly as head of ceded reinsurance, SVP, North America division. Earlier in her career, she also worked at PartnerRe for about four years in New York.
