AXIS looks to grow casualty MGA line of business

Re/insurer  AXIS Capital Group is looking to bolster its casualty MGA line of business and marine cargo portfolio within the London market with two key senior appointments.

Raj Brar (pictured right) has been appointed as head of international casualty MGA, based in London. Tim Conroy (pictured left) has been promoted to senior underwriter with AXIS' marine cargo team.

In his new role, Brar will be responsible for building and growing the casualty MGA line of business as well as continuing to lead the underwriting for construction MGA. Brar joined AXIS in 2019 from Brit Insurance, where he was class underwriter engineering. He has also previously worked at Chubb Syndicate, ProSight Specialty and Catlin.

Conroy has been leading AXIS' Dublin-based multi-line underwriting team focused on growing European business for over two years. He has been with the company for 12 years.
