AXIS hires senior cyber underwriter from Markel
Bermuda-based AXIS Insurance, a unit of AXIS Capital Holdings has hired Andrew Maher as senior cyber underwriter, effective immediately.
Maher will be based in London and will report to Dan Trueman, global head of cyber and technology at AXIS.
“Andy is a recognized expert in the cyber insurance market and has a strong reputation and key relationships with both brokers and clients,” said Trueman. “He is an important addition to our newly expanded global cyber and technology team and will help us to further enhance our reputation as one of the leading experts on cyber risk mitigation.”
Maher joins AXIS from Markel, where he spent two years as a senior cyber underwriter. He began his career at Beazley, where he held several underwriting roles, including working within the company’s information security and Beazley breach response teams.
Earlier in November, AXIS Insurance, has consolidated its global cyber and technology unit under the leadership of Trueman.
