AXIS hires ex-Allied World CFO for new global role
Bermuda-based re/insurer AXIS Capital has appointed the former chief financial officer (CFO) of Allied World to a new position of global corporate controller.
Kent Ziegler will lead the company’s group reporting, financial planning & analysis and finance business partnering teams, and will also serve as AXIS Capital’s principal accounting officer. His responsibilities will also include oversight of SEC and other external reporting, accounting policy, corporate financial planning and delivering insights and analysis to the company’s business segments.
Ziegler will report directly to Peter Vogt, AXIS Capital’s chief financial officer.
Ziegler joins AXIS from Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, where he was senior vice president and CFO, with responsibility for all financial matters worldwide and management of the finance team in several geographic locations.
Before joining Allied World in 2013, he was CFO of retail real estate for JPMorgan Chase & Company and also served as CFO of its business banking division. He has also held various senior roles in the property and casualty insurance industry, in ceded reinsurance, operations, IT, internal audit and finance functions.
“Kent brings great leadership and experience to our team, having served in senior-level roles at respected insurance companies and financial service organizations,” said Vogt. “His contributions will be integral in helping the Finance department continue to increase the value that we deliver to the company, as well as to our business units as a strategic partner.”
