AXA XL pulls talent up the ladder after new top appointment in marine
Global re/insurer AXA XL has promoted four from its marine team to rejig its segment leadership in the Americas, following 2022 promotion of one of their own to the divisions chief underwriting officer.
Ken Mueller becomes head of inland marine, taking the post vacated in 2022 when his predecessor Mike Perrotti stepped up to the CUO role. Based in Atlanta, he assumes underwriting management responsibility for AXA XL’s Inland Marine business which includes products to address construction, motor truck cargo, logistics, and warehousing risks, among others.
Brett Musser becomes head of marine liabilities for the Americas after having covered the central US zone for marine. As the head of the broader region of marine liability, he will now largely
focused on developing tailored liability insurance solutions for marine businesses. He joined AXA XL from CNA in 2020.
Shawn Langenegger rises to become inland marine central zone leader, an extension of his role after a stint in the same role for the US South Central subregion.
Allison Jolls steps up as product lead for marine liabilities, called “a more strategic underwriting management role” after a period as senior underwriter.
AXA XL’s chief underwriting officer for marine in the Americas, Mike Perrotti, said: “The marine industry inherently has some very unique and challenging risks. That’s why having such seasoned underwriting resources, like Brett, Ken, Shawn and Allison are highly valued by our clients. Their promotions are well-earned. Over the last few years, all have played influential roles in building our liability and inland marine capabilities resulting in profitable books of business.
