AXA XL boosts UK life, accident & health with hires and promotions
AXA XL has strengthened its UK Life, Accident & Health team with key hires and promotions.
Mark Campbell has joined the company as underwriting manager, wholesale accident & health. David Walker has joined as class underwriter, wholesale accident & health.
In his new role, Campbell will oversee AXA XL’s UK wholesale A&H underwriting operation, with responsibility for driving profitable growth across the portfolio. He will report to Patrick Corbett, chief underwriting officer, life, A&H at AXA XL.
Campbell has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, after joining Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd. as an assistant account executive in 1998. Following stints at Marsh Pty Ltd. and Accident & Health International Underwriting Pty Ltd, he moved to Sirius International Insurance Corp. as a deputy underwriter, A&H in 2009. He joins AXA XL from Aspen Insurance UK Ltd., where has worked as a senior underwriter since 2015.
Walker joins from Pembroke Managing Agency, where he worked most recently as a personal accident underwriter. He brings with him more than 28 years’ experience, during which he held broking and underwriting roles at C.E. Heath Ltd, Johnson & Higgins Insurance Brokers, Aon Ltd, Tyser Insurance Brokers and Argo International. He will report to Campbell.
In addition, the following AXA XL staff have been appointed to new roles: Toni LePine is appointed Global Product Leader, Retail Accident & Health; Andrew Maynard is appointed Global Product Leader, Aircrew, Ships Crew & Mobility Health Benefits; Iain Rowe is appointed as Underwriting Manager, Life.
