AXA XL appoints new marine and specialty leader in Europe

AXA XL Insurance has named a new head of marine and specialty for Switzerland.

Katja Trümpler joined AXA XL in 2019 as sales leader for private clients, having previously held a number of client management roles at Zurich Insurance Company.

In her new role, Trümpler will assume the responsibility for AXA XL’s marine cargo and fine art and private clients portfolios and underwriting strategy in Switzerland.

Manuel Meier (pictured), country manager for Switzerland, said: “International trade contributes around 40 percent of Switzerland’s GDP. From medicine and healthcare to watches and chocolate, these exports are hugely valuable contributor to the Swiss economy. In addition, Switzerland is home to some of Europe’s most prestigious collectors of fine art who also turn to us to cover their artwork whether it is at home or in transit. By developing our team in Switzerland, we will continue to support these clients and their brokers.”

He added: “I am pleased to see talent promoted from within our ranks. Katja has a strong track-record of designing client-focused solutions and a deep knowledge of the Swiss market; this makes her an ideal leader for our local Marine & Specialty team.”
