AXA Singapore merges strategic business units under Callard
AXA Insurance Singapore has appointed Julien Callard to take on the new role of managing director, retail and health.
The appointment is part of a broader strategy, AXA said, intended to streamline and strengthen business by merging its retail and health strategic business units. It hopes the enhanced agility will propel AXA towards becoming a customer-centred company.
In this newly expanded role, Callard will lead the retail and health strategic business unit, with responsibility of the respective distribution functions. This includes developing a differentiated value proposition and offerings that will strengthen its position as a health partner to its customers.
Callard joined AXA Singapore as managing director, retail in November 2019 and is a member of the executive committee, reporting to Jean Drouffe, chief executive officer, AXA Singapore. Callard first joined the AXA Group in 2000 and has held senior positions across multiple countries spanning actuarial, risk, marketing and reinsurance. Prior to joining AXA Singapore, he was head of retail property and casualty at AXA Mexico.
Drouffe said: “Over the past 20 years, Julien has held several leadership roles across the AXA Group and developed deep and extensive knowledge of the business. With his proven track record, I am confident that he will be able to build on today’s foundation and accelerate our retail and health business toward our ambitions, in line with our commitment to empower people to live better lives. We look forward to his continued contributions in this new role.”
