AXA hires Merrill Lynch's chief European economist

French insurer AXA Group has appointed Gilles Moëc as new group chief economist, reporting to AXA Investment Managers CEO Andrea Rossi.

Moëc is currently chief European economist of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He will join AXA in June 2019.

In his new position, Moëc will be responsible for developing top-tier models, views and research analysis on key global economic trends and for shaping the AXA Group’s economic outlook.

He will also be in charge of providing research on the macro-economic financial environment and market trends which will be integrated across AXA IM investment strategies.
