Aventum’s Consilium crafts specialty treaty offer, goes global
Consilium, the global speciality re/insurance broking business of the Aventum Group, will follow up the recent launch of a facultative unit by crafting a new specialty treaty reinsurance division.
The new treaty division will offer both proportional and non-proportional solutions, for clients ranging from start-ups to mature insurers and MGAs and “with a broad risk appetite to match clients’ diverse needs.”
Paul Cousins and Matt Webb (pictured) join at the partner level at Consilium to lead the new division.
Cousins joins from Chesterfield Group where he led delegated underwriting for the group’s international reinsurance and had previously been a managing director for specialty at Capsicum Delegated Authorities, the latest in a 44-year career covering Employers Re (now Swiss Re UK), Soreman/SCOR, Canopius and SRIR.
Webb is making the jump from a 23-year tenure at Ed Broking where he was division director of reinsurance. Webb had previously held senior roles at both Cooper Gay and Newman Martin Buchan before they became Ed Broking in 2016.
Aventum founder and CEO David Bearman commented: “Consilium now has the scale and experience to offer clients a holistic Specialty Reinsurance solution. We have international reinsurance broking capabilities across the globe and we will be expanding those in both class and territory. The expertise we have on board, our commitment to truly understand the clients and their portfolio and to always ‘go the extra mile’, combined with our inhouse actuarial capabilities, will be a game changer in the Treaty market. Mulberry brings something that’s completely new to the Treaty table – never before have insurers and MGAs had accessible access to such levels of actionable data and analysis, fast.”
