Aspen appoints group chief risk officer
Aspen Insurance Holdings has appointed Crystal Ottaviano as group chief risk officer, effective March 2, 2020.
Ottaviano joins Aspen from Swiss Re America where she has served as chief risk officer since October 2013, responsible for independent oversight of Swiss Re's P&C reinsurance business in the region.
She will report to Mark Cloutier, executive chairman and group chief executive officer.
Ottaviano was previously senior vice president, operational risk management at Swiss Re, with responsibility for the operational risk management framework for the Americas. Prior to this, she was head of risk management at Hiscox, where she developed the risk management strategy for the US specialty insurance business.
Mark Cloutier said: “Crystal is a highly experienced financial services professional who has led diverse teams to new levels of success in fast-paced environments.
