Arthur J Gallagher acquires two retail insurance brokers
Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Arthur J Gallagher has acquired retail insurance brokers The Presidio Group in Utah and Eagle Insurance in New York.
Following the deal, Presidio founder John Schlichte and his associates will continue to operate from their current location in Salt Lake City, under the direction of Gallagher's head of Western retail property/casualty brokerage operations James McFarlane, and head of Western employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations Norbert Chung.
Eagle's associates and founder Timothy George will also continue to operate from their location in Syracuse as a satellite of Gallagher's Albany office under the direction of Douglas Brown, head of Northeastern retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
J Patrick Gallagher, Jr, chairman, president and CEO, said: "The Presidio Group is recognized for their consultative approach and strategic focus on reducing their clients' total cost of risk. Eagle provides property/casualty coverages and services to risk management clients throughout New York and Massachusetts, with a focus on healthcare, energy, technology and manufacturing industries.
Presidio offers risk management, employee benefit consulting, group captives, loss control, safety programs and risk financing services to clients across the Western US, with a focus on construction, manufacturing, transportation, service and energy industries.
