Ardonagh poaches Miller talent for new reinsurance broker Inver Re
UK insurance intermediary The Ardonagh Group has hired a "proven leader" from Miller to head facultative reinsurance at its new reinsurance broker Inver Re.
Neil Higgins (pictured) was most recently head of property at Miller, where he has held a number of roles since 2010. He was instrumental in growing the business from a small team to a property & casualty division. Prior to that, he held senior roles at PWS and Newman Martin and Buchan.
In his new role, Higgins will oversee the creation of a client centric, strategic, flexible and market-neutral approach to facultative reinsurance solutions.
Inver Re said it will align this capability with broader treaty reinsurance expertise, as well as drawing upon the combined expertise of Ardonagh Specialty and the Group, to position the new reinsurance broker as a "credible, independent alternative for clients and work towards its aim to become a top five global reinsurance broker".
James Masterton, CEO of Ardonagh Specialty, said: “Neil is a proven leader who understands what it takes to build a reinsurance business that can deliver real value for clients. We are delighted to be welcoming him to Inver Re and the wider Ardonagh Group at this pivotal moment in our history.”
Higgins commented: “Clients face increasingly complex challenges and by harnessing the strong foundations and reach of The Ardonagh Group, Inver Re is perfectly poised to structure exceptional solutions to address these needs.
"I’m truly excited to be building a facultative division with a singular focus on service excellence to ensure clients goals are met every time.”
