Arch Re US shake-up sees new CEO, CUOs and raft of executive changes in growth push
Bermuda-based Arch Re has made a raft of leadership changes in the first week of January, including a new chief executive officer (CEO) of its US reinsurance division and chief underwriting officers (CUOs) of property and casualty operations.
Peder Moeller (pictured) has been appointed new CEO of Arch Reinsurance Company in the US. He has been promoted from chief underwriting officer, a role he held since 2017. Moeller joined Arch Reinsurance accident and health in Copenhagen in 2007 as an assistant general manager and transitioned to Arch Reinsurance Company in 2010. Prior to joining Arch Re, he held various underwriting positions at a Lloyd's Syndicate and other reinsurance and insurance companies.
Joshua Hackett has been promoted to CUO of casualty and specialty, Arch Reinsurance Company. He leads the casualty, professional liability and structured teams. Hackett joined Arch in 2016 and was most recently managing director, casualty.
Jessica Bongiorno has been named CUO of property and specialty, leading the property, aviation, crop, surety and WCA Cat teams. Previously, she was managing director, head of property. She joined Arch in 2006 as property underwriter.
Scott Montgomery, formerly executive director and head of hybrid solutions, has been promoted to president of Arch Re facultative. He joined the company in 2007 as managing director in charge of the Mid-Atlantic facultative operation. Prior to joining Arch Re, he spent 20 years in various roles at General Reinsurance.
Finally, Lisa Pickard has been appointed as chief strategy officer, from her previous role of executive director, property facultative for Arch Reinsurance Co. Pickard joined Arch in 2007 as a property facultative underwriter in Boston, Massachusetts. She has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including as property facultative manager of the West Coast region for Arch Re and various underwriting and leadership positions at Gen Re.
