Aon taps long-standing executive to lead US construction specialty practice
Global re/insurance broker Aon has tapped a long-serving casualty specialist to lead its construction and infrastructure specialty practice in the US.
In his new role, Tony DeFelice will succeed Jim Gloriod (pictured) who has been named Aon’s enterprise growth leader for North America.
DeFelice has nearly 40 years of experience in the insurance brokerage industry, including more than two decades of leadership at Aon. Most recently, he held the position of managing director of the national casualty practice group within Aon’s US Commercial Risk Solutions. He succeeds Jim Gloriod, who was appointed Aon’s enterprise growth leader for North America.
Gloriod led the construction practice for five years and will continue to partner with DeFelice to serve construction clients.
Aon is said to be in the process of hiring a new leader of national casualty.
Joe Peiser, head of commercial risk for Aon in North America, said: “Tony has an unparalleled track record for building and leading strong, collaborative national teams focused on both growth and technical excellence. Aon’s U.S. construction and infrastructure group is an industry leader and we continue to grow and build stronger-than-ever teams and resources to best support our clients.”
DeFelice commented: “This practice will be front and center in the nation’s efforts to rebuild crumbling public structures and invest in new and better infrastructure that will help U.S. businesses compete globally. Our practice is poised to help clients make better decisions that will benefit Americans for generations.”
