Aon shakes-up Reinsurance Solutions leadership after WTW deal collapse
Global re/insurance broker Aon wants to enable greater focus on creating client value, product and market segmentation and regional reach, as it moves ahead independently following the collapse of its $30 billion merger deal with WTW.
Aon has unveiled its new global Reinsurance Solutions leadership, which it says has been designed to create greater opportunities for existing and new talent in the firm’s growth journey and deliver enhanced solutions for clients.
Under the new structure, Joe Monaghan (pictured) will assume the role of global growth leader with full responsibility for overall growth strategy. This includes developing innovation at scale and integrating practice groups, client segments, global specialties, capital advisory, securities and regional growth priorities and strategic growth leaders. He will also continue as CEO of Aon’s Public Sector Partnership.
Tim Ronda, president of Reinsurance Solutions’ US business, will become global geographic leader and will oversee Reinsurance Solutions’ regional capabilities worldwide to drive scale while focusing on unique regional trends and client needs.
Nick Frankland will become chairman of the Insurance Consulting Group as the firm seeks to significantly expand its innovation, technology, consulting and advisory capabilities and deliver greater services and the full Aon United product suite to clients. He will formulate the business strategy and develop a long-term plan to further enhance capabilities in this rapidly growing area of client need.
Richard Posgate will become head of strategy to help shape the future of the business. His responsibilities will include oversight of acquisitions and monitoring business performance to drive efficiency and growth.
Monaghan, Ronda, Frankland and Posgate will report to Andy Marcell, global CEO of Reinsurance Solutions.
Leonora Siccardi will become Reinsurance Solutions’ chief operating officer (COO), having previously been global head of operations and client services. In this new role, she will lead the development of Reinsurance Solutions’ global operating strategy and work with leaders to transform, innovate and scale the operating model to deliver growth. Siccardi will also continue as Aon’s EMEA COO.
Finally, Sarah Walker will oversee Reinsurance Solutions’ global legal and compliance support, assisted by Peter Banick and the subject matter experts across the globe. This is in addition to her current responsibilities as Aon’s deputy general counsel.
Marcell said: “These new roles demonstrate the investment in our talent to nurture the next generation and evolve our team. They are designed to support our aims to further scale our capabilities across Reinsurance Solutions and deliver greater choice and innovation to our clients.
"We have already built strong foundations to achieve future success, and relationships and expertise will remain at the heart of our offering as we deliver strategies committed to tackling clients’ evolving needs around climate, capital and systemic risk.”
