Aon Reinsurance eyes Dutch and cross-border market with senior moves
Global broker Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business has bolstered its senior team in the Netherlands with a host of appointments and former QBE, SCOR hires to help develop new opportunities in the Dutch and cross-border market.
The company has appointed Kareem Chin as account director, Lieve Decuypere as senior broker, and Jiske Rigter as senior actuary within its Netherlands team.
Chin will take a lead role in servicing and expanding the Dutch and cross-border client base, and developing new business opportunities, having joined Aon in 2014 as a strategic advisor to multinational insurers with Aon Inpoint, before becoming a business developer within Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions.
Decuypere joined Aon in January 2023 to focus on the Dutch and cross-border market. With prior experience as a client manager, underwriting technical advisor and actuary at QBE Re and SCOR, she brings a breadth of specialist knowledge on life, disability and health solutions.
Rigter also joined Aon in January 2023, and will deploy her technical advisory expertise on health and disability, risk and capital, reserving, pricing and Solvency II, having worked previously at Acture Verzekeringen, Zilveren Kruis and Agis.
Roelant de Haas, chief executive officer of Aon’s Netherlands office, will lead the Dutch life, accident, health and income operation, while Pauline Wilbrenninck and Bas Ernest will continue in their role of overseeing all related mid- and back-office activities from an operational, finance and reporting perspective. Wilbrenninck and Ernest are both experienced in handling reinsurance treaties, and have in-depth knowledge on the specifics of client portfolios and the underlying operational requirements.
Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions will continue to work with senior actuarial consultant, Rene Brinksma, for the duration of 2023, leveraging his expertise especially in income protection products.
De Haas said: “We are delighted to strengthen our team with these new appointments. This highly experienced and knowledgeable group of experts will continue to build out our position and propositions by providing reinsurance protections to clients, helping them to manage volatility, and by advising and supporting them on their risk and capital management and commercial expansion plans.”
