Aon boosts its Colombia team with hire from Carpenter Marsh Fac

Aon has bolstered its team in Colombia by hiring an experienced executive from Carpenter Marsh Fac.

Camilo Ruiz has joined its Reinsurance Solutions Facultative business in Colombia as senior vice president, property, power, energy & marine, reporting to David Pena, head of property & specialties.

In his role, he will lead the firm’s property, power, energy & marine facultative reinsurance specialty practices, and will design and implement Aon’s facultative reinsurance business strategy in Colombia by creating new distribution channels, and growing and diversifying the business portfolio.

At Carpenter Marsh Fac, he was Fac senior vice president since 2018. During his 27-year broking career, he has also held senior vice president positions at Willis Re and JLT Re.

Pablo Munoz, CEO of Latin America for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business, said: “We are excited to have Camilo join our Reinsurance Solutions team in Colombia. His long career and dedication to this sector means that he brings great experience in facultative reinsurance, which will enable us to continue to build on our successes in specialty products in this segment of the market.”
