Aon boosts cyber risk practice with new appointment

Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon, has appointed Craig Guiliano as technology consultant in its cyber practice.

Guiliano has previously worked for US Intelligence for over a decade, and recently at Tailored Solutions and Consulting.

In his new role, Guiliano will be responsible for developing Aon Benfield’s cyber modelling tools such as CyberMetrica, reporting to head of cyber analytics Jon Laux.

He will also work closely with Stroz Friedberg experts following Aon’s acquisition to leverage the new risk management capabilities with a cyber focus.

Laux commented: "We are thrilled that Craig has joined our team to boost our in-house cyber expertise. This provides an invaluable perspective that will complement our broking and analytical capabilities as we strive to bring about more resilience to cyber across the re/insurance industry."

Guiliano said: "Lack of data is the biggest challenge for re/insurers to understand potential accumulations so I'll be working with the team to bring together different data sets and scenarios to enhance our analysis. I'm really excited about this role to take advantage of my experience in security and incorporate an academic edge to our research."
