Aon Benfield names CEO for Chile operations
Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary, has appointed Martin Soto Quintus as chief executive officer (CEO) of its Chile operations.
Roberto Molina has also been made treaty director for the region and Miguel Pizarro has been appointed operations and client services director in Chile
Soto Quintus will be responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s growth strategy in Chile and will also lead client teams and provide the necessary support to maximise the value Aon Benfield delivers to clients in the region. He will report to Alejandro Galizia, CEO of Aon Benfield Latin America.
Soto Quintus has 30 years of industry experience across the Latin America reinsurance and retail broking sectors, and the Latin America insurance and reinsurance sectors. He has worked for companies including Berkley International and Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation. He joined Aon Benfield in 2013 as facultative director – a role he will continue to perform until a new candidate has been selected for the position.
Molina will continue to develop a countrywide strategy for the firm’s treaty business and implement innovative solutions for clients in his new role. He joined Aon Benfield in 2011 as a treaty broker, and in 2014 was made treaty manager of Aon Benfield Chile. Molina has more than 18 years of experience in the industry, and has previously worked at companies including Chilena Consolidada (Zurich), AGF Allianz and Liberty Seguros.
Pizarro will lead the firm’s local client services claims department, as well as the innovation and product development unit. He joined Aon Benfield Chile in 2010 as special lines director, and has more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. Pizarro has performed managerial roles in claims and liability underwriting at companies including Graham Miller, Compañia de Seguros Security and AIG Interamericana de Seguros Generales.
