Aon attracts AXA XL expert to lead US cyber reinsurance
Global broker Aon has tapped a senior cyber leader from AXA XL to build out its US cyber reinsurance strategy.
David Grigg (pictured) has joined Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions as executive managing director to lead its US team and expand cyber segmentation strategy. He will be based in New York and report to Randy Stanco, co-leader of the New York/New Jersey reinsurance treaty office and co-US strategic growth leader.
Grigg brings an extensive background in both broking and underwriting. He joins from AXA XL where he was in charge of the North America Cybertech portfolio, and was responsible for increasing profit and optimising the portfolio through strategies for growth, as well as taking underwriting steps to mitigate the impact of extortion and ransom attacks.
In his new role, Grigg will be responsible for improving Aon’s cyber offering and he will be coordinating a squad of brokers and data analysts to develop the firm’s product segment strategy.
“Cyber is an evolving line of business on which Aon is focused to bring clients robust solutions and capabilities to meet their needs, especially as cyber risks and the industry’s role within this area continues to develop,” said Stanco.
“David brings a vast amount of expertise and knowledge to lead and continue to expand our cyber segmentation strategy, as well as further develop a dedicated team to this important line of business. David’s experience, proactive outlook and passion for creating robust career development pathways for colleagues at all levels, reinforce Aon’s commitment to continue to build our cyber reinsurance expertise.”
