Alesco Risk Management Services names global delegated authority MD

Alesco Risk Management Services has appointed a managing director of its global delegated authority practice.

Having been with the firm for more than a decade, Donald Alcom will head up the 50-strong team, primarily based in London and service global clients.

Most recently Alcom was the company’s managing director of delegated authority for the UK.

Alcom said: “We use our connections to introduce underwriters to MGAs, other brokers and cover holders to find a successful and profitable solution for their requirements. Our team differentiates itself by working hand-in hand with clients and the market.

“Our role is not to simply place capacity contracts but to manage, analyse and optimise them. I believe our track record is second to none in terms of delivering solutions and I look forward to working with the wider team to further develop our services.”

Alesco Delegated Authority manages gross premiums of more than $1 billion and has a portfolio of 300 contracts for 125 agents worldwide.

Jonathan Turner, CEO of Alesco, said: “Donald has done a fantastic job leading our UK offering, and his wealth of experience and track record of client delivery means he is well placed to oversee the next phase in the growth and development of our delegated authority offering.”
