AIG partners with United for travel insurance

American International Group (AIG) said on Oct. 18 that it has partnered with United Airlines to offer its travel insurance products and services on the airline’s website and mobile app.

The programme is part of a multi-year deal between AIG and United.

"We are pleased to offer a full portfolio of travel insurance products and global assistance services to the millions of passengers who fly United Airlines each year," said Jeff Rutledge, CEO at AIG Travel.

The AIG travel insurance plans include coverage for trip cancellation/interruption, personal baggage loss/delay, emergency medical services and more. AIG Travel's travel insurance plans are currently available to the airline's customers in the US, Canada, Mexico and many countries throughout Western Europe.

The insurance product pricing and benefits vary based on multiple factors, and coverage is subject to policy terms and conditions.
