AGCS reveals new London claims head

Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Lars Vissing as regional unit London (RUL) head of claims, starting in February 2018.

Vissing succeeds Martin Henson who retires after nearly 20 years with Allianz.

Based in London and Copenhagen, Vissing will lead AGCS’ claims team in the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Russia, the Nordic Region, Australia and New Zealand. Currently head of claims for the AGCS Nordic region, Vissing will continue to be directly responsible for the area.

Vissing has been with AGCS since 2008, joining as head of claims for the Nordic region. He has extensive experience in managing high value and complex claims as well as implementing successful claims strategies across all four Nordic countries.

Henson, who retires from the role of regional head of claims, has held leadership roles across both underwriting and claims in a career spanning over 45 years, 20 years of which have been with Allianz. Henson also successfully led AGCS UK property, liability, and global energy underwriting teams before moving into claims, where he was head of claims UK before taking up the broader regional role in 2010.

AGCS chief claims officer Alexander Mack commented: “I’d like to thank Martin for his many years of excellent work on behalf of AGCS, and the Allianz Group more broadly. Lars’ proven track record in driving a high quality claims service across the Nordic region equips him well for his new role. I have every confidence he will be able to build on AGCS’ reputation as an industry leader in raising the bar on Claims service.”

AGCS chief regions & markets officer and member of the board of management Carsten Scheffel, said: “Claims is at the heart of what we do and our customers have grown to expect a superior claims experience. I’m looking forward to working together with Lars as part of the regional leadership team, to continue to build a first class claims operation. I’d also like to extend thanks to Martin for his many years of service to Allianz and AGCS and wish him well in his retirement.”
