AEGIS London appoints non-exec director from Berkshire
Lloyd’s managing agency AEGIS London has appointed two new non-executive directors, Gregory Abel and Thomas Farrell II, to its board.
Abel is vice chairman – non-insurance business operations at Berkshire Hathaway and executive chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. Abel holds a variety of board positions including with AEGIS London’s parent AEGIS Insurance Services in the US, the Kraft Heinz Company and a range of energy businesses.
Farrell is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Virginia-based Dominion Energy. Farrell also holds a variety of board positions including with AEGIS London’s parent AEGIS Insurance Services in the US. He is the presiding director of Altria Group and also serves on the board of directors of the Edison Electric Institute, of which he was chairman from 2011 to 2012 and as chairman of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.
“Greg and Tom are both leading figures in the US energy sector and highly respected by their peers. I welcome them to the board,” said William Dalton, chairman of AEGIS London.
David Croom-Johnson, managing director of AEGIS London, added: “Greg and Tom’s arrival provides broader representation for our US parent in London while giving us access to an unrivalled store of business knowledge and expertise.
