‘Fast & Furious’ EAIC 2024 speeds into action with ‘Back to the Future’ theme
The East Asian Insurance Congress (EAIC) conference is returning to Hong Kong for the third time this September. The four-day event will gather insurers, reinsurers, experts, and young talents from the region and around the world to share insights on current issues and challenges faced by the insurance sector.
The 30th EAIC, hosted by the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI), will take place from September 24-27 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will feature a captivating ‘movie theme’.
The 2024 event will delve into the transformative opportunities and challenges ahead for the East Asian insurance industry. The central theme for the 2024 conference will be “Back to the Future – Empowering East Asian Insurers for 2044 and Beyond,” focussing on building on the foundation and exploring the future.
Incorporating movie titles, the conference sessions will interconnect events and discussions. Each key topic is named after a movie to encapsulate the essence of the discussion.
The conference emphasises “fostering a sense of fraternity among member cities” by incorporating a “fun-loving vibe” into the industry discussions.

Minority Report – The Role of Regulators beyond Fostering Stability and Consumer Protection
Mission: Impossible – Managing the Age Factor and Diverse Demographics
The guest of honour will be Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Liu Yuejin, Principal in Charge at China Life Insurance. Industry insight sessions will be conducted by Franz Hahn, CEO of Peak Reinsurance, and Yu Xiaodong, CEO of Taiping Reinsurance.
