Direct Line snags chief risk officer from Aviva

UK insurer Direct Line Group has lured a long-serving executive from Aviva to take up the role of group chief risk officer.

Maz Bown (pictured) will join the company at the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approval.

In her new role, Brown will ensure the executive and board have a comprehensive view of key risk management and control across the company, DLG said.

Brown, who is an actuary, joins from Aviva where she was most recently chief risk officer for UK general insurance and health. She served Aviva for 22 years where she traversed several roles across its Canada and UK operations.

Adam Winslow, CEO of Direct Line Group, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Maz Bown to the group and as part of my new management team. With an impressive depth of knowledge and experience as a leader in risk management, Maz is a very welcome addition to the leadership of our business.”
