Lloyd’s Acappella Syndicate appoints head of reinsurance
Acappella Syndicate 2014 has promoted Jim Quinn to the new role of head of the reinsurance division, and Matthew Bellamy to the position of head of property reinsurance.
Acappella Syndicate 2014 operates in the Lloyd’s market and is managed by Pembroke Managing Agency Limited. Lines of business underwritten by the syndicate include property treaty, casualty treaty, political risks, cargo and marine, accident and health and contingency, liability and property binders.
Quinn joined Acappella Syndicate 2014 in December 2013 to build the casualty reinsurance portfolio for its first year of account in 2014. He previously worked for Brit Syndicate 2987 for 12 years as a senior underwriter in the casualty reinsurance division and worked for 11 years prior to that as an underwriter in the company and Lloyd’s market.
Prior to joining Acappella Syndicate in April 2014, Bellamy worked for MS Amlin as a North American property treaty underwriter, specialising in catastrophe and per risk excess of loss structures.
David Indge, chief underwriting officer and active underwriter at Acappella, said: “Both Jim’s and Matthew’s promotion reflect the immense value they bring to the Syndicate and the contribution they have made to the Syndicate since their arrival."
Quinn added: "In a short time period the reinsurance teams at Acappella Syndicate have built a strong franchise in a challenging market. I am looking forward to managing the future strategy and development of the Reinsurance division, alongside Matthew and the underwriting teams, as the Acappella Syndicate continues to move forward."
