Willis Towers Watson bolsters claims resolution services
Broker Willis Towers Watson has formed a new claims resolution team to expand its advocacy capabilities and facilitate efficient financial recovery for its clients in complex and contested claims scenarios.
Willis said the team will extend its traditional claim advocacy services into the dispute resolution arena to provide an effective alternative to disruptive, costly and contentious legal proceedings.
Led by executive vice president Rob Lane, the resolutions team consists of five former practicing coverage attorneys with expertise in all major lines of business and insurance markets.
Additional team members will include Jim Dorion, head of liability claim consulting and carrier relations; Henry Daar, leader, national property claims; Brian Weiss, head of claims and legal group, FINEX; and Will Eustace, head casualty coverage officer.
“Establishing the resolutions team is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our platform and expand our claim advocacy capabilities to deliver meaningful results for clients following a significant loss,” said Joe Peiser, head of Broking, North America. “Organizations today need highly specialized insurance coverage experts and experienced negotiators to navigate contested claims on their behalf.”
Lane commented: “The aggregate skill, experience and significant commercial relationships of this team create an unparalleled and unprecedented value-add for our clients. The cost of claim disputes, both financially and relationally, are increasingly disproportionate for both sides of the insurance transaction. Resolutions offers a forward-thinking solution utilizing the specialized skills and technology of today’s dynamic insurance marketplace, but predicated on traditional, reasoned negotiations between commercial partners.”
