Willis Re hires Brit's former head of claims Steve Robson in London
Willis Re, the reinsurance division of broker Willis Towers Watson, has hired Steve Robson as head of London market reinsurance claims.
Robson has 36 years experience in the sector, having previously worked at specialty insurer Brit and Charles Taylor-managed Standard Syndicate 1884.
Robson was head of claims at Brit before joining Syndicate 1884 as managing director in July 2017. He has also served as president of the International Association of Claims Professionals (IACP), and held chairmanships at the London market CAT Coordination Group and its Reinsurance Claims Practitioner Group.
In his new role, Robson will lead Willis Re’s claims broking team in London, and report to global chief operating officer Chris Brook.
Brook said: “We are thrilled that Steve will lead Willis Re’s ongoing effort to redefine our claims offering by bringing claims advocacy to the forefront of our business.
"Steve’s extensive experience as an inwards and outwards claims director for several prominent risk carriers, as well as the senior industry roles he has held in the (re)insurance market has given him a broad and invaluable perspective on claims, and a deep understanding of the depth of service and future positioning that Willis Re aims to deliver to our clients.”
Robson added: “I am excited to be joining Willis Re, which is actively leading the way in bringing a quick and efficient claims service to the forefront of its business. Willis Re really understands what a client-focused claims philosophy truly is, ensuring it is adapting with the pace of change of today’s market and importantly delivering on client’s requirements in this key area of risk management. That matches my own desire and as part of the Willis Re team, I look forward to leading the charge in making a positive difference for clients with the ultimate goal of driving a more proficient claims experience for insurance consumers around the world.”
