Trilogy MGA launches UK construction product

Trilogy Managing General Agents has launched a UK construction product, with capacity provided by Great American International Insurance.

The product has high policy limits of up to £10 million to cover most building, civil and engineering trades for contract works, owned and hired in plant, for example. There will also be casualty cover available via the company’s panel of insurers.

Using its technical underwriting capabilities, Trilogy aims to make the most of opportunities in construction as sector capacity available from existing carriers in the class has contracted. This has been driven by factors such as pressures in the Lloyd’s market and the fallout from significant non-UK losses.

Simon Stokoe, Trilogy strategic development manager, said: “In developing our UK construction product, we are responding to a real market need and delivering the products our brokers want. We see real opportunities where we can deploy our technical underwriting skills and knowledge to add real value to the market. Working alongside high quality capacity providers like Great American, I expect Trilogy to be making more announcements of new partnerships and product offerings throughout the year.”

Alec McFarlane, UK construction underwriting manager at Great American International Insurance DAC, added: “Trilogy has an outstanding underwriting team able to offer to the highest service standards and we have no doubt there will be significant demand for this product.”
