Travelers names new co-chief investment officers
Property/casualty insurer Travelers Companies has appointed David Rowland and Daniel Yin to executive vice president and co-chief investment officer, effective immediately.
William Heyman, who previously served as chief investment officer since 2002, will remain on the company’s senior leadership team as vice chairman and continue to serve as chair of the company’s investment policy committee.
Rowland and Yin most recently served as deputy chief investment officers. Rowland is responsible for the company’s fixed income portfolio, and Yin is responsible for the company’s portfolio of equities and alternative investments.
Alan Schnitzer, chairman and chief executive officer of Travelers, said: “Bill Heyman’s impact on Travelers’ success over close to two decades cannot be overstated. His steady hand and disciplined approach to investing have guided us through various business cycles and challenging economic conditions, including the financial crisis. We are all deeply grateful for everything he has contributed to this company, and we are fortunate that we will continue to benefit from his insight, experience and wisdom.”
Schnitzer added: “Dave and Dan are longtime leaders in our Investments group and have been integral in developing and implementing our investment philosophy. They have done an outstanding job of managing the risk and reward equation for our investment portfolio, and they have a proven track record of results. I couldn’t be more pleased to have them as partners as they both join our Management Committee.”
